About NHW

The Neighbourhood Watch scheme has been operating for quite a few years in Virginstow and currently there are 23 dwellings registered. It would be very nice to have some more participants. The scheme is run on an area basis and has the full co-operation of the local police force in Holsworthy who  liaise with the local co-ordinator both giving and taking information.

To be a member you do not have to do anything but contact the Area co-ordinator and give a few contact details after that, whenever information is given to the Area co-ordinator, you will be contacted and advised of any problems in this area. Likewise if you see or encounter a problem just call the Area co-ordinator with any information and this will then be passed on to the local Police who will take appropriate action.

In the first instance you should give any information to the Area Co-ordinator.

We are extremely lucky to live in an area with such a low crime rate and we have had only a couple of problems to deal with over the past 5 years BUT in such a spaced out area as Virginstowe is it is essential that we look out for each other and report any suspicious activity no matter how trivial you may think it is.It is better to be safe than sorry !.
